Two-component pneumatic glue gun: the right choice

As a professional, are you looking for glue and putty application equipment that's easy to use and robust? The choice of application gun should not be overlooked, especially for two-component products renowned for their technicality and often used in a demanding environment where precision is a must. Étraves has just the right two-component glue gun for you.

The activities of the company Étraves

Étraves was founded in 1991 and specializes in packaging industrial and chemical products. We mainly fill glues in liquid or paste form in a variety of packaging ranging from 3ml to 30 liters. Examples: two-component cartridges, single-component cartridges, aluminum tubes, cans, glass bottles....

Our expertise in two-component products has led us to distribute the market-leading products of the Medmix Mixpac brand. The latter specializes in the design of two-component glue application guns and mixers for two-component cartridges.

The different types of glue dispensers

There are three main types of dispensers for two-component glue: manual dispensers, pneumatic dispensers and electric dispensers. They are designed for two-component cartridges from 50ml and whatever the ratio (1/1; 1/2; 1/4 and 1/10).
The application dispensers are therefore used with double body cartridges, a mixing nozzle (or mixer) and a push piston adapted to the desired ratio (or rack).
The users of this type of equipment are mainly professionals in the construction, automotive and aeronautical industries, and therefore sectors that require robust and reliable equipment.

The criteria for choosing a glue dispenser

The choice of gun depends on the product to be extracted and the working environment.
The manual gun is best suited to small applications. It requires no special maintenance and is very easy to use.

The pneumatic gun requires an air connection. It is used for precise, even product application. For intensive use, it is effective in facilitating the operator's work. It is also recommended for viscous products which require power for extrusion.
The electric gun enables viscous products to be applied quickly and efficiently. Thanks to its battery, it can be transported and used anywhere.

Other selection criteria to consider

The choice of two-component gun is important for the quality of the application and for the operator's working comfort. It is also important not to neglect the choice of the product mixing nozzle. Its diameter and length are the key factors in ensuring good mixing and bonding quality. It is therefore essential to define the number of mixing elements inside the mixers. Mixers can only be used for one application.

Why and how to use a glue dispenser?

Before we look at why you should invest in a glue dispenser, it's important to know the difference between a conventional dispenser and a two-component dispenser. This will help you know which one to buy. If both have the function of gluing, the two-component dispenser will have elements in addition to the classic model, namely a cartridge with a double body, a plunger and a mixing nozzle. Indeed, if the classic dispenser only needs to push the glue stick towards the nozzle that will heat, as its name indicates, the bicomponent model will also have to mix 2 products.

Now that we've got that out of the way, let's take a look at the advantages of investing in a glue dispenser on aliexpress. As you probably know, a glue dispenser will allow you to glue cardboard, wood or plastic. As for the two-component dispenser, it will allow you to glue metal. Of course, you can do your gluing without a dispenser. Nevertheless, you will gain in many ways with quality material:

  • You won't get glue on your fingers
  • This will be much more accurate
  • You will be able to reach hard-to-reach areas.

When it comes to keeping your fingers clean, really, it goes way beyond saving time on your hand washing after you finish your work. Having glue on your fingers isn't always something that is harmless, as it can present some toxicity to your skin. So by choosing to use a glue dispenser, you are saving your skin from irritation and burns.

From an accuracy standpoint, there's no question about it. The fact that you have a nozzle allows you to be much more precise than by hand, since you will put the right amount and at a very precise place. You will have a clean finish, without letting the glue show. This will avoid you having to clean up the excess glue as you go along, and at the same time, you will save time. In the same logic, you will be able to access much more easily to corners, angles, in short, areas that are difficult to access.

Now we have to see how to use your hot glue dispenser. Don't worry, it's extremely simple, and therefore, within everyone's reach. You will have to insert the glue stick through the back of the dispenser. It must obviously be the same diameter as the refill hole. If it does not fit, you should not force it. It means that the glue does not correspond to your model of dispenser. So remember to check the compatibility between the 2 before buying. Then, you just have to plug your glue dispenser to heat it up and press the trigger to let the glue out. As you can see, it is not complicated.
